The Nairobi National Park Day Tour is a half-day trip to see lions, rhinos, and buffaloes in Nairobi National Park, and to view the wildlife of the only national park within a capital city’s boundaries. The park was established in 1942 as a place of recreation by the colonial settlers, right next to the growing city outpost.
The park’s main attractions include rhinos, lions, leopards, and buffalo (there are no elephants here, since the park is too small for their range needs). Covering only 177 sq km, it consists of three main ecosystems: dry forest near the main gate, savannah grassland to the southwest, and a riverine ecosystem along the southwestern border. It’s located just 7km and 15 minutes from Nairobi’s central business district.
